Relating to all the books about Queen and Freddie I've read, yes, it is! He had a truly flamboyant and energetic stage persona, but at home he was rather shy, he valued privacy very much. I love him for that. He doesn't feel like a distant, famous rockstar.. but like someone really close, who's there right at my side!
I completely agree! I've seen a few interviews where he mentioned he was rather "boring" offstage. And I saw a few quotes of his where he referred to himself as being shy, and one of the reasons he had so much trouble falling in love was because people expected him to be like he was onstage. He's very relatable! Especially having died from a disease in which its victims are so ostracized and considered the lowest of all people.
To me, he is the most relatable celebrity ever! I actually wouldn't call him a celebrity at all. He was.. a well-known Artist. And a wonderful person. He was just Freddie Mercury. And that was enough for me to fall for him.
It's like my old bedroom when I was living with my sis and her (then) 3 cats + 2 dogs. My room was deemed the "Puddy (Yes, as in Puddy Tat) Room"... Probably because before I moved in that was where they kept the computer and litterboxes...
Nothing like coming home after a long day to find 3 cats (and the occasional basset hound) sprawled on your bed!
